There are so many articles out there on how to prepare for the baby, what to store up on before the baby arrives, and how to create the perfect nursery. But I feel like there’s a big piece missing from the puzzle. See, babies don’t just take over your house’s (nursery) sweetly decorated room, they take over YOUR ENTIRE HOME. In fact, until they are several months old, many babies do not even use their nursery. I figured I’d share these simple ways to prepare your home for baby with three friends who are expecting babies within a few weeks of each other. These are small tips and tricks that I picked up on the way I wish I knew before Weston was born. I hope these hacks in home preparation will help you make your mom’s life a little more manageable once your joy bundle comes in!
HOW TO PREPARE YOUR HOME FOR BABY
SET UP THE PACK N’ PLAY
You know that nice, expensive pack n’play that you’ve added to your registry when you’re traveling? Set it up in your living space corner and get the value of your money. Most of the new Pack n’ Plays come with table attachments that change bassinet. The n’play pack can serve as a home base for the most commonly used living space. A place to nap for the baby, a place to change the baby, and a place to keep a lot of baby stuff! I stole this idea from our best friends straight away and it was a life-saver.
